In 1880, Olivine's father, Paul Dauphinais age 68, and her mother, Henrietta age 49, were living in Holyoke, Massachusetts next door to Alfred Russell, his wife Olivine and newborn granddaughter Mary Anne Russell, while six of their own children were still in there home ranging in ages from 20 to 11.

Also living in the home of Paul & Henrietta was Almira Refrab (sic). The census indicates Almira is the mother-in-law to the head of household which was Paul. We have no explanation why the census lists Almira Refrab as Paul's mother in law when in fact his mother in law was Julie Lavoie/Lanoie - Fregolle. Henrietta's father is Michael Fregolle.

Paul Dauphinais was living in Holyoke from the time he arrived in the US until the time of his death on Oct 23 1893. He is buried in South Hadley Falls. His father was Paul Dauphinais and his mother was Delima Fortin. Henriette lived in Willimansett with daughter Grazelle from 1899 to 1915. Look for Grazelle Lancour 1910 census. That is when Grazelle gor married and Henriette moved to Northampton on King St with her daughter. Henriette dies a few months latter and is buried in St Mary's cemetary in Northampton, not in Chicopee. In Willimansett she was living with her daughter Louise and husband Delphis Leverault, my great aunt and uncle. They lived only a few streets away from me. Grazelle's husband was Alfred who was born in 1862 and died in 1937. Grazelle was born in 1867 and died in 1962
The 1880 Canadian census has her name thus Louise Flageol The death certificate of David Dauphinais list his mother as Henriette Her obituary has it as Harriet Graziell's death certificate has it Henrietta. I think the best is what I use, Louise Henriette.
The 1881 Canadian census list her age as 51. The Holyoke census list her as 49. I have no idea why they are listed in the 1881 census when they were already living in Holyoke. Whatever the 2 dates are almost the same. Her death certificate list her age as 83. If she was 50 in 1880 then in 1916 she would be 86. I would be inclined to say that the children were more apt to know there mother's age and that she was 83 when she died. That would make her date of birth 1832. Insert Henerietta.jpg Death Cert
As for Paul . The 1881 Canadian census list him as 52 whereas the Holyoke has him at 68. That is a big difference. He died in 1894. His death certificate has him as 84 years old. That would pretty much make the 1880 Holyoke correct. Taking from there then he must have been born in 1809.

The grave contains the remains of 3 of the 4
Dauphinais boys, Arthur 1986 David 1961 and Anatole 1962
Also buried there is great great aunt Grazelle Lancour Olivines
sister. died Nov 2 1962 George
Question: Have you any idea why Paul was buried in South Hadley and Henriette was buried in Northampton? Why were they not laid to rest beside each other?
Answer: At the time she was living in Northampton with her daughter and son in law Alfred and Grazelle Lancour.
In 1895 Henrietta was listed as widowed and head of the household living at 563 So Summer St. In 1898 Henrietta moved to 28 Forrest St in Willimansette, Massachusetts with her daughter Grace Dauphinais.
Henriette lived in Willimansett with daughter Grazelle from 1899 to 1915. That is when Grazelle gor married and Henriette moved to Northampton on King St with her daughter. Henriette dies a few months latter and is buried in St Mary's cemetary in Northampton
Jan. 28, 1916 Henrietta passed away and was laid to rest in St Mary's cemetery in Northampton, Massachusetts.
