Hello Skip,
This is your cousin Jim Losty writing. I hope all is well with you
and your family. It's certainly been a long, long time since
we've seen each other. As is usually the case, families only seem to
come together in sad times and that was at your mother's funeral
when we last spoke.
I'm writing to let you know that my sister Joan Losty Ellis has
created a really beautiful website of the Losty Family Genealogy. I
hope you can take a few minutes and log on to www.thelostys.com
and take a look at what she created. It's really special and
she and I want to make sure that all of the living Losty's (there
aren't very many) have a chance to look at the site and to
contribute to it in anyway. We are especially interested in any old
photos you might have of your father and mother and you and Pat and
of course of you and your current family.
We would appreciate it also if you would let your sister Pat know
about the site and if she has an e-mail address that you could pass
along that would be great. If not, could you take a few minutes to
list her current name and the names of her children.
Also, your son Anthony is or was dating the daughter of an
acquaintance of mine - Ted Motyl. I'm close friends with Ted's
sister and husband and they asked me if I was related. Also, since
there are very few Losty men, the lineage would end if either your
son or my son Tim fails to produce a male heir. Of course there's
still you, your cousin Tom and myself but, I can't speak for you,
but I can assure you that Tom and I aren't about to have anymore
kids. Anthony and Tim are our last shot.
Sorry to take up too much of your time, but this website is a really
great thing and Joan and I hope you and your family enjoy it and
better yet help to add to it in anyway you can.
If you have some pictures that you would like to see on the site,
you can send them to me and I will get them scanned and returned to
you as quickly as possible. If you just want to add some words to

PS. Sorry to hear that you lost your bid for Ward 3 Alderman.
I know Uncle John would have been thrilled if another Losty won a
seat on the Board. I'm a member of the Golf Commission in South
Hadley and even this is a pain in the ... at times and no where near
what being an Alderman is.

Dear Jim,
I am Skip's wife, Laura. I printed out your e-mail for Skip and
will give it to him when he gets up, (it's only 05:30 am ), I'm
the early bird in this family!! I do know that Skip and I will not
be having any children at this stage in our life!! We have talked
about being foster parents when we buy a single family house for
us. Skip isn't upset about the alderman thing, he will be working
as a Health Code Inspector. The position starts in a couple of
weeks, also the new Mayor asked Skip if I would be interested in a
commission with the city. I am a former police officer and have
many years in administration and medical fields, so I said yes. We
have many old photos of the Losty/Viamari clan. They are somewhere
in the attic, and I told Joan that I would send some to her. We
had a wonderful chat back in November. I must apologize for not
getting to this sooner, but my brother is a Chaplin Major in the
USAF and was in the middle east for 4 months and then drove out
here with his family in November. We still live in the 2 family on
Linda Ave that Skip bought when he was married to Jane. My mother
lives on the first floor so I can take care of her. Anyway, this
was the first time my brother was here for the holiday's in 25
years, so this was very special for my mother as this was probably
the last time she will see her grandchildren. As for Anthony
(Tony), I'm pretty sure he is still dating Beth Motyl. They
"split" up for a while and then got back together. She
is a beautiful young woman. The whole family likes her. Skip's
oldest daughter, Jamie, is 22 and is a microbiologist at U-Mass
Memorial Hospital in Worcester. She lives in Leominster. I have a
son who is 25 and is married with 2 daughters. He lives in Texas.
I would love to have a family reunion, but that would certainly be
an undertaking to arrange.
I will bookmark the web site.
